Part 6, Section 1 When requested to notarize a document, very often the information contained in that document is sensitive in nature. Therefore, it is always a good practice to maintain complete confidentiality. Unless you are called upon in a legal action to testify about facts regarding a specific notarial act, you should never disclose to anyone (not even family and friends) anything regarding the parties involved, the nature of the transaction, or any discussions that were had with you or overheard by you during your time with the parties, even if your comments are of a positive nature.

respects the privacy rights of the parties, but also protects you from
harmful repercussions. |
